PE Energy Limited has launched a new technology aimed at reducing gas flaring and boosting oil production in Nigeria. This technology, known as the Multi-phase Pump and System, was introduced during a seminar in Lagos on February 4, 2025. The event, which was organized in partnership with ITT Bornemann GmbH, focused on the theme “Eliminating Gas Flaring and Reducing CAPEX in Production Fields; A Sustainable Approach.”
Dr. Daere Akobo, the CEO of PE Energy Limited, highlighted that this technology would help reduce carbon and methane emissions, increase oil production, and contribute to the global net zero target. He also emphasized the importance of tackling gas flaring as an environmental hazard, noting that the new technology aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s methane emission reduction policy.
The Multi-phase Pump and System, as explained by Mr. Jeroen Olde Monnickhoff of ITT Bornemann GmbH, can capture gas from fields, boost it to production facilities, and reduce air pressure, thus enhancing oil output. The technology has been successfully implemented globally, and industry players were urged to consider its benefits over traditional gas flaring.
The new technology reflects PE Energy Limited’s mission to bring innovative, efficient solutions to the oil and gas industry, and ITT Bornemann GmbH’s expertise in multiphase pumping systems across multiple sectors.
